Sur América contra el reloj: Un ascenso rápido en el Atlántico / Northwards rapidly on the Atlantic coast

A diferencia de lo que pensaríamos al estar buceando, un ascenso rápido en el Atlántico es posible, pero es importante asegurarse de estar en la costa y no bajo el agua. Si bien la Ruta desde Ushuaia no trae grandes sorpresas, es estepa patagónica, un poco más seca, menos animales, menos cuerpos de agua voluptuosos, menos montañas nevadas, más camiones, más tráfico y carretera asfaltada, el regreso ha tenido bellas perlas que esperamos relatar con juicio aquí:

Although from a diver's point of view a rapid ascent in the Atlantic is perilous, it is possible to "ascend" the coast rapidly, provided that one is on the coast and not under the water. The route from Ushuaia offers no great surprises, Patagonian steppe, a little drier, less wildlife, few voluptuous stretches of water, few snowy mountains, more trucks, more traffic and tarmac, however it does offer some pearls which we will describe:

En la ruta Ushuaia - Rio grande, pudimos ver un castor en acción, llevando pasto a su madriguera, su capacidad de trabajo y su constancia en la realización es impresionante.

In the route from Ushuaia to Rio Grande, we saw a beaver in action, taking grass to its store, its capacity for work and the constancy of its performance being impressive.

En Rio Grande por segunda vez, la centolla a la parmesana del hotel Posada los Sauces, sigue siendo deliciosa. El museo de la misión Salesiana muy limitado.

In Rio Grande for the second time, King Crab Parmigiano en Posada los Sauces, once again delicious. The museum of the Salesian Mission rather limited.

En la ruta Rio Grande - Rio Gallegos, pasábamos por una zona sin ningún árbol, total desolación, solo pequeñas lagunas a los lados de la vía, la mayoría secas, Alan dice: este es un lugar muy improbable para castores, al instante un castor aparece en una de las lagunas, magia! Después lo intentamos con pumas y Huemules pero no aparecieron.

On the way from Rio Grande to Rio Gallegos, we passed through an area with no trees, total desolation, only a few small ponds on the side of the road, mostly dry. Alan said "it seems most unlikely to find beavers here", whereupon a beaver appeared in one of the ponds - magic! We subsequently tried the same technique to summon pumas and huemuls, however with no luck.

En Río Gallegos, una catedral pequeña y rosa en medio de los nuevos edificios, resulta pintoresca. Le museo de los pioneros es básico pero crea conciencias sobre las diferentes poblaciones que participaron en el desarrollo de la ciudad. El restaurante recomendado muy decepcionante, algunas perlas no tiene brillo.

In Rio Gallegos, a small pink cathedral in the midst of modern buildings, with picturesque results. The Pioneer Museum is basic however provides awareness of the different colonising populations which participated in the development of the city. The restaurant which was recommended very disappointing; some pearls didn't shine.

En la ruta Río Gallegos – Puerto San Julián, hermoso el paisaje de la desembocadura de los Ríos Santa Cruz y Chico en el atlántico, también la vista de la Bahía de San Julián.

On the way from Rio Gallegos to Puerto San Julián, the scenery at the estuaries of the rivers Santa Cruz and Chico is beautiful, as is the view of the bay at San Julián.

En San Julián, además de una colección interminable de ruidos de los exostos modificados para romper la pasmosa tranquilidad, ofrece el museo temático Nao Victoria “ la aventura más audaz de la humanidad” esta frase se refiere al tema de la exhibición, no a la experiencia que ofrece el museo.

In San Julián, in addition to the interminable racket from the modified exhausts of the "lads" of the town, the town has the Museum Nao Victoria offers "the most audacious adventure in the history of humanity", which phrase refers to the theme of the museum, as opposed to the experience offered by the museum.

En la ruta San Julián – Comodoro, lo más lindo de la ruta lo encontramos en el circuito costero al norte de San Julián. En un lado La Playa de la Mina en donde además de deleitarnos en el paisaje y las características de la playa, pudimos observar delfines. Luego una lobería con varios individuos en actividades de relajación y finalmente pudimos observar Cormoranes Grises. También es rica la carretera sinuosa y el paisaje de la costa cerca de la ciudad.

From San Julián to Comodoro Rivadavia, the most attractive part of the route we found in the coastal circuit north of San Julián. Mine Beach, despite the name, is delightful in its vista and we could see dolphins; then a sealion colony, with resident engaged in various forms of relaxation; finally we encountered Grey Cormorants. The route itself is sinuous and pretty, as is the scenery on the coastline.
