En las Yungas - Parque Calilegua - in the Yungas

We visited San Salvador de Jujuy, capital of the province with the same name. A quiet place, a small city with good attitude to tourism, and enough infrastructure to solve problems and a little more. So we enjoyed the cafes, obtained some useful information, and explored the streets.

From Jujuy we headed for the Argentine Yungas, specifically the Calilegua Nature Reserve, and area to the north of Jujuy which allowed us to enjoy the beauty of the ecosystem, and its flora and fauna.
Here are a few photos from Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. It was wonderful to enjoy the tranquillity of this area, to enjoy its paths, and listen to the breeze. In winter this environment must be bewitchingly beautiful.

  1. The first picture surprises me - it looks how I imagine Miami to look? The photo of the toucan is phenomenal. Why in particular do you feel that the place's beauty would be enhanced in the winter?

  2. In winter the rains come: and so everything would turn to green and lush. The downside is that the roads turn to mud so it is difficult or impossible to gain access.

We were very pleased with the Toucan...!
