Si llegar a Cajamarca fue una delicia, salir fue una pesadilla. No existe una sola señal que indique la ruta hacia la costa (como todos la conocen no es necesario indicar nada) y hay rutas principales en todas las direcciones, además el tráfico tiende a ser caótico como en la mayoría de ciudades visitadas en Perú.If finding our way into Cajamarca had been easy, leaving was a nightmare. There are no signs indicating the road to the coast (obviously everyone knows the way so there is no need for signposts). There are principal routes in all four cardinal directions, and the traffic is as chaotic as we have found in every city in Peru.
En la primera parte de la ruta se asciende hasta el "Abra del Gavilán", para luego iniciar un descenso continuo hasta los 33 msnm. In the first part of the route, one ascends over the "Abra del Gavilán" before starting the descent to 33m msl.
Saliendo de la montaña, el paisaje es desertico y la topografía quebrada.Leaving the mountains, the scenery is desert and geologically contorted.
La represa de Tembladera aparece como un gran cuerpo de agua que deleita la vista y contrasta con la sequedad de las montañas.The Tembledera reservoir appears as a huge expanse of water, contrasting with the dry mountain landscape.
En la Panamericana el desierto se intensifica y es el paisaje predominante hasta Trujillo.
Once onto the Pan American Highway, the desert intensifies, and remains the predominant scenery until Trujillo.
Finalmente, en Trujillo una mezcla entre Arquitectura Colonial y Neoclasica llenan el espíritu.
Finally in Trujillo, we are pleased to find a mix of Colonial and neo-Classical architecture.
